Partner terms

These are the terms for accountants and bookkeepers who hold a Kelpie partner link. They are short because the arrangement is simple: nothing is paid to you, a client who joins through your link gets their first month free, and whether you can see their books is their call, not ours.

1. Who this is for

A partner link is for a person or firm that advises Australian sole traders on their books or tax — an accountant, a bookkeeper, a BAS agent, a tax agent. You ask for a link on getkelpie.com.au/accountants by giving your name, your firm and an email address. That is all we keep about you. One link per firm; asking again sends the same link.

The link is yours to share with your own clients and contacts. It is not for advertising, bulk mailing, coupon sites or listing anywhere that isn’t you talking to someone you know.

2. What your client gets

A person who lands on Kelpie through your link and subscribes within 30 days gets their first month free. After that they pay the ordinary price ($25 a month on Kelpie Full, or $10 a month on Kelpie Support), on the ordinary terms. The credit applies once, to a new Kelpie subscription only — not to a login that has subscribed before, and not to your own subscription if you have one. The first link a person arrives through is the one that counts.

If a client asks us to remove the credit or to be counted under a different link, we will do as they ask; they are our customer, and the arrangement is theirs to change.

3. What you get, and what you don’t

Nothing is paid to you. No commission, no referral fee, no credit against a subscription of your own, no reward that changes with how many clients come through. That is deliberate: it means there is nothing for you to disclose to a client under your professional obligations, and nothing about our arrangement that could be read as influencing your advice.

What you can have is access to a client’s books, if and when they invite you from inside Kelpie — read-only, or edit, whichever they grant. That access is free, is the same invitation any customer can send to anyone, and can be withdrawn by the client at any time. We never grant it on your behalf, and we never tell you which of your clients have signed up: the client tells you, by inviting you.

4. Your obligations

Describe Kelpie accurately. What it does is on the features page; what it does not do is there too. In particular: Kelpie prepares figures and documents, and the customer (or their agent) lodges; Kelpie does not give tax advice; Kelpie has no bank feeds; and there is no free plan beyond the first month a client gets through you.

Don’t present yourself as Kelpie, as employed by Bower Software Pty Ltd, or as endorsed by us beyond holding a link. Don’t sign a client up in their name, and don’t enter a client’s details into Kelpie for them unless they have invited you with edit access.

5. Your information

We keep your name, your firm and your email address, so we can send you your link and, occasionally, tell you something has changed on this page or on Kelpie that affects your clients. We don’t sell or share them. Which of your clients have joined through your link is recorded so the credit can be applied; you don’t see that list, and neither does anyone outside Bower Software Pty Ltd. Our privacy policy applies to you as it does to everyone.

6. Ending it

You can ask us to retire your link at any time by emailing help@getkelpie.com.au; we will do it within a few days and it will stop working. We can retire a link if it is used in a way section 1 or 4 doesn’t allow, or if we end the partner programme, in which case we will email you. Either way, nothing changes for clients who have already joined: their subscription, their credit and any access they have granted you are theirs, and continue.

7. The rest

These terms are between you and Bower Software Pty Ltd (ACN 702 077 254), sit alongside the Terms of Service, and are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. We may change them; if we do, the date at the top moves and partners with an active link are emailed. Questions: help@getkelpie.com.au.
